Vocalist Marleen Achten graduated in 1998 at the Rotterdams Conservatorium. She had classes by Coco York and Alberto ter Doest and masterclasses by Jerry van Rooyen, Deborah Brown, Dee Daniels, Willem Nijholt en Gerrie van der Klei. She also studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst (Graz, Oostenrijk) and was teached by international known jazzmusicians like Marc Murphy. She participated in numerous project, like Opera ‘Nabucco’ in Ahoy. She had major parts in the musicals ‘Go Sarah Go’ and ‘Cinemania’. She played the opera Carmen in a project with Henk Poort.
Guitarplayer and composer John Nuyten studied classical Music at the Brabants Conservatorium. As a professional player he studied jazzmusic and freefunk. He also became a member of the popband MAM. The last 4 years he specialised in composing songs, based on poetry. First in cooperation with singer/poet Pieter Bon. Next to The Womens Poetry Project John Nuyten runs Voices From The Trenches, al song-poetry project about 11 First World War soldier-poets with vocalist Lizet van Beek.
